Welcome to Lower School
Welcome to Arendell Parrott Academy Lower School!
Arendell Parrott Academy is a very special place with a strong tradition of excellence, high expectation, dedication and family atmosphere which develops students into well rounded citizens. Honor, initiative and truth guide our faculty and staff to ensure that all students are prepared for the world that they will face in the future. As students progress through the Lower School Level, they are surrounded by highly certified teachers, opportunities to engage in learning, and a place where they are nurtured and cared for. APA’s lower school is a place where childhood is celebrated while preparing children for beyond lower school years.
The Lower School curriculum balances rigorous academics with fine arts, physical development, foreign language and character development which sets the foundation for students' success throughout their years at APA. Students not only acquire knowledge and skills to be effective and engaging learners but are also taught day to day skills such as organization, attention to details, time management, motivation, and work habits. By devoting our attention to both academic growth and social-emotional development, our students have the essential components to excel as they grow as scholars and transition into the middle school setting. Our teachers work closely together to maintain a strong core curriculum that builds on acquired skills as students progress through each grade. They are also dedicated to working continuously to bring new methods and ideas into their area of expertise. The skills obtained in the Lower School help create a firm foundation enabling each student to reach his or her full potential and become successful citizens.
As Head of Lower School, I look forward to working with the families and students throughout the Lower School years and beyond. Please feel free to contact me at any time so that we can work together to ensure a positive and successful school year.
